Exercise Pitch Black 2012
Exercise Pitch Black 12 (PB12) is the Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) largest and most complex air exercise. It was held in Australia’s Northern Territory from 27 July to 17 August 2012.

I was very fortunate to be a guest at RAAF Base Darwin over two days in early August, photographing exercise activity. These are 20 of my photos.
On the day we were at RAAF Darwin, the Indonesian Sukhois took on a pair of RAAF Hornets in a 2v2 engagement. A21-51 of 77 Sqn was one of the two Hornets involved, taking off here with drop tanks and AIM-132 ASRAAM training rounds.
